Red Osier Guild maintains that we can learn how to decolonize our relationship to the land anywhere, even in the cities of Waterloo Region. Our Guild is focused on learning, teaching, and building together with the land as our teacher.

We do many public events that range in topics from learning about the land and all of creation, foraging, to stewardship, to survival skills training. We are also focused on building land based programming for Indigenous community right here in Waterloo Region.

Our focus is on access: how do you build a relationship with where you live in an urban space? What is our relationship to the parks and lands where we live right now?

Red Osier Guild thoroughly recognizes that the image of survival and camping is generally hard boiled, deeply masculine, and likely bearded. While we love our bearded, masculine, and bearish fam, Red Osier Guild strives to protect space for all – Two Spirit, Trans, women and girls, queer people, and men are implicated in a decolonizing relationship to land based and survival teaching. All people are welcome to join us in protecting this space, and build a bold, safe and kind learning environment.
